How Does Pay-As-You-Dash Work?
What's Covered?
This is a 'Pay-As-You-Dash' policy, that covers you for DoorDash deliveries. It is a 90 day policy and a reminder will be sent to you in plenty of time before your renewal. Coverage is provided during the following phases:
"Period 2" means Active Delivery (En Route to Pickup). This period commences at the exact moment the "driver" accepts a delivery request via the “DNC's” mobile application. It continues until the "driver" physically arrives at the designated restaurant or store to pick up the ordered item(s).
"Period 3" means Active Delivery (In Possession and Delivering). This period begins immediately after the "driver" has taken possession of the ordered item(s) from the designated restaurant or store. It continues until the "driver" has delivered the ordered item(s) to the customer and the delivery is marked as completed in the “DNC's” mobile application.
Pay-As-You-Dash policies do not include liability/comprehensive coverage, roadside assistance, towing coverage, or rental coverage.
Please refer to your Pay-As-You-Dash policy documents and terms and conditions for full information.
How does it work?
You can sign up for a Pay-As-You-Dash policy for no money down and your first 50 trips are free.
After your 25th trip, we'll charge your card $8 to your policy balance, or wallet.
After your 50th trip, you will be charged 8 cents per trip.
Payments are then taken automatically whenever your wallet balance falls below $4 using an automated recurring payment. You will be charged $8 for recurring payment to replenish your wallet.
The policy lasts 90-days, but you are only charged for the trips you make. This is based on real-time trip data sent to us by DoorDash.
If you cancel or choose not to renew your Pay-As-You-Dash policy, any unused balance remaining in your wallet may be refunded.
Recurring Payments:
Pay-As-You-Dash policies are set for recurring payments that INSHUR sets up on a customer’s billing profile using their debit or credit card details.
Please note that agreeing to automated top ups (recurring payments) is a condition of the Pay-As-You-Dash policy.
This helps to ensure that you have enough funds available in your wallet to cover your policy with us.
Before we set up your policy you will be asked to confirm the below:
I authorize INSHUR to send instructions to my card issuer, including setting up a continuous payment authorization to take payments and top up my wallet in accordance with the terms of my agreement and policy with INSHUR.
Payment:
While the policy lasts 90 days, you will only be charged by the trips + fees, based on actual delivery data received from DoorDash. As explained above, it costs nothing to sign up and then payment is taken automatically every time your wallet falls below $4.
With each accepted delivery, 8 cents will be deducted from your wallet balance. Once your balance falls below $4, an automated top up of $8 will be charged to your authorized payment method.
What data do we receive?
We receive a file each day for the previous day activities. You will pay for the number of trips, at the rate of $0.08 per dash.
Wallet Top Ups - What is this and how do they work?
Your wallet is where your insurance premium is held in advance of you agreeing to a trip with DoorDash. $0.08 will be deducted from your wallet balance after each trip. Once your balance falls below $4 the wallet will automatically top up.
Here is an example:
You will pay nothing to begin your policy.
After your 25th trip, we will charge your payment method $8 to top up your wallet.
8 cents will be deducted from your wallet balance after each trip. Please allow up to 48 hours for delivery data and deductions to show in your wallet.
When your wallet balance falls below $4, INSHUR will automatically add funds in the amount of $8 by charging your chosen payment method.
What if a top up payment fails?
As with all card payments - we will get failures. We will automatically retry to collect the payment once per day for 3 days. If no successful payment is completed in 3 days, your policy will be immediately canceled after the 3rd consecutive failed attempt.
You are notified by email when a payment fails and will be informed of our retry process.
